The site occupies a privileged position on the slopes of the Penha hills, overlooking the city of Guimar\u00e3es.<\/p>\n
Its complex topography, solar orientation and remarkable views became the driving forces behind the design.<\/p>\n
The house is formed by two interlocking rectangles \u2014 an \u2018H\u2019-shaped configuration \u2014 arranged to enhance the land, the light and the outlook. This logical layout creates an arrival courtyard where the volumes meet and gently pull apart.<\/p>\n
On the lower level, social and service spaces engage directly with the city. Large openings in the living areas and kitchen emphasise horizontal light, transparency and expansive views.
\nAbove, the more intimate bedroom spaces are reserved. Here again, light and landscape are carefully framed, offering their most beautiful expression.<\/p>\n
